DTF Ink Lab #04 – Unleash Stunning Color: Vibrancy Face-Off!

YIQIA DIGITAL measures and compares color intensity in the fourth DTF Ink Lab test

Dtf ink performance goes beyond durability to define print vitality and visual appeal. In this fourth installment of our DTF Ink Lab, YIQIA DIGITAL presents a side‑by‑side comparison of different CMYK ink and film combinations, specifically evaluating how they affect the vibrancy of a bold blue print on stretchable knit fabric.

We began by printing a standard color test using our regular ink and film pair, then repeated the process with an alternative ink/film combination under identical conditions. Each version was transferred onto the same fabric piece, and colorimeter values were compared to determine differences in lightness and chroma.

Key Findings

Our regular CMYK setup showed significantly higher luminance and chroma in the blue patch compared to the alternative configuration. Those measurable gains result in prints that are notably sharper, more vivid, and visually captivating—especially valuable for dark or stretchable garments.

Why It Matters

When choosing ink and film for dtf printing, vibrancy is not optional—it’s essential. Differences in ink chemistry and film properties directly impact how colors appear under real-world use. Investing in the right pairing translates to stronger visuals and better customer satisfaction.
